Advocating Efficacy and Joy in Your Family Philanthropy
Retreats and Planning
Many families, family foundations and other grantmaking organizations meet to review their activities or plan for the future on a regular basis. Families and foundations just starting out often hold a day-long or multi-day session to hammer out goals and issues, operational plans, next steps and to think about the best ways to progress and measure that progress toward goals.
An independent facilitator can be helpful to provide a neutral guide for the discussion. Confidential pre-retreat interviews allow us to uncover any elephants in the room and to identify potential solutions tested by others. I can help you capture (or-recapture) joy in giving that makes your time invested in philanthropy worthwhile.
And most importantly, I supply Play-Doh®, Nerf® balls and clown noses!
Julia talked to all of us, designed a retreat and facilitated a lively, invigorating experience that led to surprising new insights into who we were, what we cared about, and how we could work together in the future.
